Thomas Barrow was born in America in 1938. He studied at the Art Institute of Design in Chicago and graduated with an M.A. in graphic design in 1967.

Thomas does a variety of different images in black & white and in colour. From my observation, Thomas tends to allow a lot of light in and overexposes his images which in turn makes his photography bright. 

I was really drawn to this image when researching and this image is also why I choose to write about Thomas Barrow. Thomas uses a lot of subtle colour in this image which keeps it simple and soft. He also uses words in his image and although the words aren't super noticeable, it adds a nice touch to this image. 

Some of Thomas's black and white images still include a small tint of colour. 

I was also drawn to this image because of the composition and dark and light colours of the books in the image.
